Version 2.1.0. [Reduction Update]
Spirits of Hell [DEMO] » Devlog
Hey-o!
I believe this is the last update for the DEMO version of the game, since many different errors and bugs have been fixed over the course of time. And honestly, no matter how much I love my project, anyone would get bored doing it for so long.
I feel a little cringe making such an update, since the main reason for its existence is to CUT THE GAME BY HALF.
Yes, you read that right: cut the game. I wonder if anyone else has ever thought of cutting the game under the guise of an update?
But no matter how strange it may seem, I think that such actions will only benefit the game. And here's why...
Unfortunately, I couldn't maintain the balance of interest that it had in the first half of the game. Instead of interesting moments and learning mechanics, the player is forced to simply walk from point A to point B, sometimes watching cutscenes. The game turns into a walking simulator, which is always fatal for any horror game.
It is important for me as a developer to maintain the player's interest during the gameplay, right? Then so be it.
In addition, some minor fixes were made:
- White stripes indicating enemies became red to reduce confusion
- Weapons became more durable
- A bug was fixed where you could move after death
- Text in save locations was shortened
